Oh well

At least we've still got the 2nd amendment.

But, you don't have anything to hide right? So why would you mind if the police took a look around without a court order...

Ralph?

Hmm. Well, I probably won't vote for Ralph again, but I won't fault him for running. At the very least, it's his right, and more importantly, maybe this time the democrats will learn to listen to the people supporting him, at least a bit. And not just in the last weeks before the election.

Edwards or Kerry ... Kerry I guess. But both of them kinda suck. Still thinking about it.

POW

So Hussein is a POW. Does that mean we'll stop violating the geneva conventions? No...

Lies and the lying liars...

Finished the Al Franken book tonight. Good and funny and all, but the basic argument of the book is that conservatives wouldn't listen to the arguments of the book. So, basically it's just more reasons for leftists to get depressed. Hoorah!

Screw Em

Screw 'em all. Dean? Bleh. Clark? Bleh. All of them.

And screw moveon too.

Screw all these people that don't understand that change won't come through trying to look radical within the realms of the established system. Either be a radical, smash the state and get nowhere, or play within the system and tell the truth about the fact that you're playing within the system. Don't just criticize other folks. Offer meaningful solutions. Don't tell me why I shouldn't like someone else. Tell me why I should like you.

You still won't win of course. None of it matters. Especially when we all start using Diebold voting machines. As one researcher said, "They make security mistakes that I wouldn't even expect from a computer science undergrad." The election will be thrown either way. Democracy is dead. And if it's not dead now, give redistricting some more time.

Ooops. I'm sorry. I got off on a rant. I meant to say "OH NO BIN LADEN HAS A NEW TAPE OUT! GOOD THING WE'RE FINGERPRINTING ALL THOSE CRIMINALS FROM NON-WESTERN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES! BETTER CANCEL SOME FLIGHTS TOO, AND KEEP SOLDIERS IN IRAQ EVEN AFTER THEIR TERM OF DUTY IS UP! YAY!!!"

A good joke I thought up

This one is going on the board in StudioB.

So, the good news is that we've succeeded in making Baghdad just like an American City. The bad news is that the city it's just like is Detroit.

Ooo, burn on Detroit!

Dukakis sucked.

So I'm about halfway through my paper analyzing the propaganda / persuasion techniques used by the campaign ads in the Dukakis/Bush race. I must say, it's no bloody wonder that Bush won. All of Dukakis' ads are essentially "Well yes, I may suck, but look, Bush sucks too!"

Hu?

Ok?

So I should vote for you because I shouldn't vote for Bush?

Wait, I remember using that same sentence a couple years ago. Of course, back then it was treason or something? I forget... was disagreeing with Bush a crime back then or not? I know that it's double-plus ungood now.

But thank god we're going to make Iraq independent this summer. I assume "independent" means "fully functioning with working infrastructure and stable government plus hope for civil and ethnic stability" right? Wait, you mean we just won't send as much money each month? Bummer for them.

When you get drafted?

So the pentagon is secretly filling seats on draft boards nationwide, trying to make sure they're fully staffed ... just in case. Are we scared yet? yes!

So, the evil doers are obviously getting desperate, what with the coordinated attacks on multiple targets. That must be what's going on.

Hello?

Folks?

Heh

So, the very day after he is elected, Arnold says the budget problems may be worse than he thought. Somehow becoming governor-elect granted him access to secret inside info? It's odd, because Pawlenty did the exact same thing. Got elected by running on fixing the budget problems by just cutting away the excess spending, then said - right away - that things were worse than he thought and they'd need to cut everything.

Are we noticing a trend folks? This is how the republicans are doing it now. This is how they plan to bleed the government dry till we get back to feudalism or whatever their end-game is.

We've gotta stop being blind to it.

A sample politics entry

It's just silly... this whole Democratic campaign. Blah. But this is just a test.
